Launched in summer 2023 with a five-year, $3.6 million grant from the California Department of Health Care Access and Information, UC Irvine’s PRIME Pre-Health Pathways program is designed to undergraduates from underserved communities pursuing healthcare careers. The program provides mentorship, hands-on experience, and academic guidance. The first cohort of 20 students received intensive training, advising, and support to enhance their professional school readiness. In June of 2024, the program celebrated its first graduation class, highlighting its impact on future healthcare leaders.
